about us

Synergy Racing Developments was established in January 2014. The company was born out of a conversation in the summer of 2013 between Fusion Motorsport team principal, Dan Hazlewood and his customer and owner of Stevenage Sheet Metal Gary Byatt. Gary had staked his claim that he could produce a chassis every bit as good as what was out there and develop it into a race winner with Fusion’s help.

With the challenge accepted, just a few months later and following an intensive testing and development program, what was a distant dream became a reality and between Fusion and SSM, they had produced a fully homologated chassis ready for competition in 2014 under the new brand, Synergy Racing Developments.

The kart became an instant success with the first model, the Synergy Chrome going on to win the 2014 British Championship in dramatic fashion, in the hands of Fusion driver Teddy Wilson, with Jonny Edgar also taking the British Open title. The Chrome went on to win the 2015 LGM Series with Jonny Edgar (Fusion) and dominated the 2016 season with Harry Thompson (Fusion)

Synergy had ended Zip Kart’s domination of the class and the rest, as they say, is history. There have since followed 2 more homologated versions of the brand; the Platinum (winning every title in 2017 and 2018) and the latest version for 2020, the Carbon.

Synergy branched into the Bambino market in 2017 with the Synergy Titanium and has since won the newly formed MSUK British Championship with Jesse Phillips as well as the BKC title several times.

What sets Synergy apart from its competition is the unrivalled customer service, from complete kart builds including seat fitting as standard procedure to track side support and set up advice.

Proving that Synergy is a success in its own right, the manufacturer now has its own factory team, specialising in the Honda cadet category, a class which the brand has won the National title in 3 times.

As with any successful company, its the people that make it what it is and the combination of multiple British, European and World Champion mechanic Craig Boyd heading up the build and customer support, Neil Doran (Fusion team manager) at the head of development and Dan Hazlewood steering the direction of the business, Synergy has success and performance in its DNA.
